International cups are a highlight for most teams. Both Midtjylland and Young Boys are looking forward to this Champions League fight to decide who advances from the 3rd Qualifying Round.

This should be an interesting game with lots of spark and energy as both teams are well rested since they last saw competitive action. Game on!

18-8-10 (wins/draws/losses). These are the numbers for Young Boys when playing away games on grass, which is not the surface they have on their own home stadium (which has artifical turf). Their goal statistics from those 36 matches are 70-51 (scored/conceded).

Everyone involved with the away team has to get their travel gear ready for this match as there's a whopping 1200 kilometers to cover before arriving at the match.

Midtjylland form and stats

Midtjylland have reached this Champions League stage through battling and winning against Ludogorets. Midtjylland was eliminated in the 2nd qualifying round last season in the Champions League. Astana was too strong.

In their previous game, the manager B. Priske Pedersen led his Midtjylland to a defeat in the Superliga match away at SønderjyskE. The manager is hoping to put things right immediately here at MCH Arena. In the game before, an away victory in the Champions League match versus Ludogorets with a 1-0 scoreline.

The bookmakers consider this a fairly even contest. One could say only the home advantage separates the teams. It could be relevant to look at how Midtjylland have performed in matches similar to this (as small favourites). Our database has found one match with the results: Won zero, drawn zero and lost one.

Another home game is coming up fairly shortly for the hosts, as Lyngby are coming to town in three days.

Young Boys form and stats

The traveling awayteam has defeated KI in order to reach 3rd Qualifying Round of Champions League. Last season their Champions League adventure ended in the play-offs.

Playing away, Young Boys have won 7 games, drawn 5 and suffered 6 defeats in the Super League this season. Impressively, the visitors are on a six-match winning run which they hope continue versus Midtjylland. Having won their last three away games Young has no reason to fear anyone.

Young Boys play their second away game in a row, but can be confident going into this one after the 2-1 victory visiting Basel. Ahead of that match was the victory versus Basel at their stadium, the result 2-1.

World class coaching! That was the thoughts of manager G. Seoane when M. Spielmann scored the winning goal after coming on as a substitute in the 82nd minute.

So, this is expected to be a close game, an even contest. Looking at earlier matches with Young Boys playing away and similar expectations, we found four relevant matches. Results were zero Young Boys wins, two draws and two defeats.

A new game in only three days for Young, the Super League home match versus Zurich. Busy days.

Young Boys has displayed an ability to score goals in away matches in the league this season, 29 goals from 18 games. Young have conceded 26 goals in these away matches.

Head 2 Head

Numbers for the last two meetings between these two teams are: one win for Midtjylland, zero draws and one win for Young Boys. Over 2,5 goals: one time; under 2,5 goals: one game.

The competition begins already in late June and lasts for almost a year, ending with the final played in late May or early June. After several qualifying rounds the group stage is where the “true” Champions League begins for many viewers.
