There's local pride at stake here, as these teams are practically neighbours. Expect lots of passion from both players and supporters.

Both teams should be fairly well rested for this game, as they have had some quiet days to prepare. Hopefully this will translate into lots of action on the pitch.

Sud América form and stats

1-1-3 is the win-draw-loss statistic for Sud América in their Segunda Division matches away. It's looking increasingly bleak for América who now has to deal with a four game losing streak. Atenas was the last time a defeat was avoided.

Sud América might have something to prove in this game as they lost at home in their previous match. Uruguay Montevideo proved too strong as Sud América slumped to a 0-1 defeat in front of their own fans at Parque Palermo.

Preceding that game, the 1-2 loss visiting Albion's place.

The visitors have scored 4 goals from 5 away games in the league, an average of less than one per game. Defensive performances away have varied in quality as América have conceded 8 goals on the road. For more goal statistics, check out the Statistics tab above.

Head 2 Head

Progreso have avoided a loss in the last 8 games (4-4-0) versus Sud América.

The two duelists also faced each other previously this campaign: Progreso - Sud América 2-0.
