Competition: Uruguay Primera Division
Competition: Wed 26.August
Match begins: 13:00 (UTC)
Venue: Estadio Jardines del Hipódromo (18000 seats)

An important duel in the bottom section of the Primera Division, with both Danubio and Fénix experiencing more worry than joy. This match is a classic "six-pointer" with the home team placed 16th and the visitors in 11th place.

There’s little time for restitution or working hard at the training pitch these days, with both teams having played their last game less than four days ago.

These teams are so close in distance that this match is special, a derby with local pride the main prize.

Danubio form and stats

Danubio have played three Primera Division home games so far, perhaps enough to set expectations for the season. In that case, only 0 points from these matches could be a signal of rough times ahead. Game days at Estadio Jardines del Hipódromo have recently become somewhat of a nightmare for Danubio as they have lost three home games in a row. It hurts.

Stress levels are on the rise for Danubio's attacking players as they have now played 216 minutes without scoring in a league game. J. Gutierrez was their last goal scorer.

Danubio are hoping to put things right at home after a defeat in their previous match, the score 0-1 away versus Progreso. Preceding that match was a defeat to Plaza Colonia (0-1).

There's a new game coming up fairly quickly for Danubio as they are travelling to their away game against Cerro in the Primera Division. That match is four days after this one.

Danubio has huge difficulties finding the net and are scoring on average only once per two home matches in the league: 1 goal from 3 games. With more than 1,5 conceded goals on average, the Danubio defense is not exactly impregnable. 5 goals conceded from 3 games. You can find more goal stats on the Statistics tab above.

Fénix form and stats

The visitors, who have the most scored goals (14) in Primera Division, are W0-D4-L0 on the road this term. That's in the Primera Division. Fénix has built quite a streak of draws from their away games now, as four in a row has ended all square. Will this streak be broken in today's game?

Fénix had fun at their own home (Estadio Jardines del Hipódromo) last time out, beating Defensor Sporting 5-0. B. Olivera, M. Franco and J. Toledo scored. Ahead of that match was the away draw versus Cerro that ended 2-2.

As you can tell from the results above, Fénix was very dominant against Defensor Sporting, winning the match with a scoreline that even the finest fortune teller couldn't predict. 5-0 (!) with B. Olivera, M. Franco and J. Toledo providing the goals.

After this away game Fénix return home for a Primera Division game against Nacional. That game is only three sleeps after this.

The travelling fans enjoy Fénix's attacking play in away games, having scored 7 goals in 4 league matches away. In the opposite end, Fénix have conceded 7 goals in their away games.

Head 2 Head

H2H stats regardless of arena (last ten matches): Danubio three wins, four draws and Fénix three victories. As for goals, five matches ended with three or more goals (over 2,5), five games had two or less.
