Champions League: Group Stage: Liverpool travels to Salzburg for this exciting encounter

It’s busy days for these teams as both were in action only a few days ago. There’s no rest for the wicked, or in this case; no rest for Salzburg and Liverpool.

It's quite the trip for Liverpool when visiting Salzburg as the cities are 1300 kilometers apart.

Salzburg form and stats

Last season their Champions League adventure ended in the play-offs against Crvena Zvezda.

Salzburg have been very solid at home in the Tipico Bundesliga so far, with 25 points collected from 9 matches (8-1-0). This has contributed greatly to their 3rd position in the table. Salzburg haven’t lost a game in 21 attempts regardless of arena, a great achievement. Their last loss was the fixture versus Wolfsberger AC, 226 days ago.

Salzburg's last game was hosting Wattens and winning 5-1. 1-1 away at Admira before that.

As mentioned above, Salzburg "killed" Wattens in their previous game. They need to reset completely for this one and beware of complacency.

There's a new game coming up fairly quickly for Salzburg as they are travelling to their away game against Hartberg in the Tipico Bundesliga. That match is four days after this one.

Salzburg always seem capable of creating a buzz here at Red Bull Arena with 41 goals in 9 league games. 11 goals have been conceded.

Liverpool form and stats

Nothing but glory last season for Liverpool, as they won the Champions League.

Liverpool have been very strong on the road so far with a massive 22 points collected from 8 Premier League games. 7 wins, 1 draw and 0 defeats is the record so far. In general it has been a productive period now for Liverpool as they haven't lost any of their last 33 games. The away team travel with confidence. Not since the Manchester City game have they lost an away game, meaning Liverpool has taken points from 16 away matches in a row.

Two travels in a row for Liverpool, whose manager J. Klopp could celebrate last time after the Premier League win against AFC Bournemouth. That result followed a home victory 5-2 versus Everton in the Premier League.

After this away game Liverpool return home for a Premier League game against Watford. That game is only four sleeps after this.

With an average of more than two away goals per league game away, Liverpool are regular goalscorers on their travels. It's not easy to score on Liverpool as they have only conceded 5 goals from these away games.

Head 2 Head

The most recent history between these sides is the Liverpool - Salzburg 4-3 played earlier this season.
