RB Leipzig form and stats

Last season their Champions League adventure ended in the 8th finals against Liverpool.

RB Leipzig have secured 6 points from their first three home games in the Bundesliga. A decent catch, still with room for improvement.

Leipzig's last game was hosting Hertha BSC and winning 6-0. As mentioned above, RB Leipzig "killed" Hertha BSC in their previous game. They need to reset completely for this one and beware of complacency. The striker Christopher Nkunku bested all others in that fixture and managed a match rating of 9.15 out of 10. Nkunku scored two goals, served one assist, hit three key passes, dribled past the opponent 1 of 1 times and had 18 successful passes (of 21 total).

Before that, RB Leipzig played out a Bundesliga draw 1-1 when visiting Köln.

The match schedule is unforgiving for RB Leipzig as they have a new game in only four days, a Bundesliga match thankfully also at home. Bochum are visiting.

With more than three goals on average, the attacking play of RB Leipzig is on fire here. A stunning 11 from 3 league matches. On the other hand, RB Leipzig have conceded 4 goals.

Club Brugge form and stats

Brugge's mission in Champions League last season failed in the group stage.

3 wins, 0 draws and 1 loss. That’s the product of Club Brugge playing as the away team in the Pro League this season.

Brugge played 1-1 against OH Leuven in their previous match. Midfielder Noa Lang was the best performer of that match, with a rating of 8.41. Lang hit four key passes and dribled past the opponent 8 of 12 times.

Prior to that result Brugge won their away game at Sporting Charleroi in the Pro League. The scoreline was 1-0.

Brugge has displayed an ability to score goals in away matches in the league this season, 7 goals from 4 games. Brugge struggle to build an impenetrable defensive wall in away matches with a total of 6 goals conceded from these games.

The UEFA Champions League is the major international club football tournament in Europe. The competition begins already in late June and lasts for almost a year, ending with the final played in late May or early June. After several qualifying rounds the group stage is where the “true” Champions League begins for many viewers. Eight groups with four teams each battle through six rounds to qualify for the knock-out phase. Then a round of 16, quarterfinals and then semifinals needs to be won before a place in the final is secured.
