Rapid Vienna form and stats

Last season, Vienna's Champions League journey ended in the 3rd qualifying round.

Vienna's last game was hosting Wiener Viktoria and winning 6-0. As indicated by the result mentioned above, Vienna played a great game against Wiener Viktoria and beat them comfortably. Expectations are high for this one.

Before that, Rapid Vienna had a Tipico Bundesliga home game versus LASK Linz which ended with a victory 3-0.

This is expected to be a close game, with Vienna perhaps considered small favourites due to their home advantage. Looking back at earlier matches similar to this one (expected to be close with Rapid Vienna as a small favourite), we find four games. Rapid Vienna has won two of these, drawn one and lost one.

There's a new fixture coming up fairly quickly for Rapid Vienna, as the Tipico Bundesliga home game vs Hartberg is only four days away.

Sparta Praha form and stats

Sparta was sent out of Europa League in the group stage last season.

The away team have been very comfortable on their travels so far, racking up 10 wins, 4 draws and only 3 losses in the Czech Liga. Sparta Praha have been producing wins at home as well, producing a total of five victories in a row regardless of arena.

Sparta are travelling after their nice 6-1 home win in the Czech Liga against Zbrojovka Brno. As you can tell from the results above, Sparta was very dominant against Zbrojovka Brno, winning the match with a scoreline that even the finest fortune teller couldn't predict. 6-1 (!) with Matěj Polidar and Adam Hložek (4) providing the goals. It was a convincing performance from Sparta Praha when Zbrojovka Brno were beaten. The team "killed" the match in the first half leading 6-1 and the second half was comfortable. Matěj Polidar and Adam Hložek (4) scored their goals. It's hard not to mention Adam Hložek's lethal finishing against Zbrojovka Brno. four goals were a big reason for the important victory.

Before that, Sparta secured a home win against Zbrojovka Brno with the score 6-1.

After this away game Sparta return home for a Czech Liga game against Sigma Olomouc. That game is only four sleeps after this.

Sparta have scored more than twice on average per away game (in the league), an impressive attacking display. They have 36 goals from 17 away matches. Sparta Praha have conceded 22 goals in these away matches.

The UEFA Champions League is the major international club football tournament in Europe. The competition begins already in late June and lasts for almost a year, ending with the final played in late May or early June. After several qualifying rounds the group stage is where the “true” Champions League begins for many viewers. Eight groups with four teams each battle through six rounds to qualify for the knock-out phase. Then a round of 16, quarterfinals and then semifinals needs to be won before a place in the final is secured.
