Paris Saint Germain form and stats

Last season their Champions League adventure ended in the semi-finals against Manchester City.

Paris Saint Germain have collected 12 points from their Ligue 1 home games so far after 4-0-0. Paris haven’t lost a league-game in 15 attempts regardless of arena, a great achievement. Their last loss was the fixture versus Lille, 178 days ago.

A nice win for Paris last time playing, versus Montpellier. That was also a home game and the match ended 2-0 with Julian Draxler and Idrissa Gueye scoring for the victors. Midfield player Ander Herrera got a match rating of 8.84 in that game, the max score being 10. Herrera hit the woodwork once, hit three key passes, dribled past the opponent 2 of 2 times and had 64 successful passes (of 69 total).

Before that match, a Ligue 1 win away at Metz.

Goals are plentiful at Parc des Princes in the league this season as Paris has scored 12 goals here in 4 home games. From these home matches, Paris have conceded only 3 goals.

Manchester City form and stats

Last season their Champions League adventure ended in the final.

It's gone fairly well in the Premier League away games so far for Manchester City with six points collected from three matches. It could be a hat trick of victories away for Manchester City, as they have won on their previous two travels.

Did you know that the longest clean sheet streak is 1816 minutes? This record is held by Mazaropi when he played in Vasco da Gama. City goalkeeper Ederson Santana de Moraes is eager to challenge this, with his 485 minutes of keeping balls out from the net.

Two travels in a row for City, whose manager J. Guardiola i Sala could celebrate last time after the Premier League win against Chelsea. Kevin De Bruyne got a match rating of 7.65 in that game, top player of the team. Bruyne hit three key passes and dribled past the opponent 1 of 2 times.

That result followed a home victory 6-1 versus Wycombe Wanderers in the Carabao Cup.

The visitors have scored 2 goals from 3 away games in the league, an average of less than one per game. Manchester City are tight as a drum on their travels, having allowed the opposition only 1 goal away.

Head 2 Head

H2H stats regardless of arena (last five matches): Paris zero wins, two draws and Manchester City three victories. As for goals, two matches ended with three or more goals (over 2,5), three games had two or less.

The UEFA Champions League is the major international club football tournament in Europe. The competition begins already in late June and lasts for almost a year, ending with the final played in late May or early June. After several qualifying rounds the group stage is where the “true” Champions League begins for many viewers. Eight groups with four teams each battle through six rounds to qualify for the knock-out phase. Then a round of 16, quarterfinals and then semifinals needs to be won before a place in the final is secured.
