Competition: Europe Champions League
Competition: Tue 22.September
Match begins: 19:00 (UTC)
Venue: Stadion FK Krasnodar (35074 seats)

The first of two encounters in the Champions League Play-offs, as the hometeam Krasnodar will try to edge PAOK in their own ballpark.

Krasnodar and PAOK should both be in good shape for this meeting, as there's been enough days for both of them to train and rest since their last matches.

These teams have little in common geographically as PAOK have to travel 2000 kilometers to reach their opponents. The trip home will be especially long if the match ends in defeat.

Krasnodar form and stats

Krasnodar was eliminated in the play-offs last season in the Champions League.

Krasnodar must be fairly happy with 5 points from their first three Premier League games here at Stadion FK Krasnodar. Krasnodar have played two draws in a row on their own stadium.

Happy days for Krasnodar in their previous game, a Premier League match away at Rotor Volgograd that ended with a 3-0 victory. Preceding that game was the home draw versus Rostov that ended 1-1.

The home team are moderate favourites in this game. How does Krasnodar handle that role? We have found six games in our database similar to this one, based on the home odds. The stats for these games are two wins, three draws and one defeat.

The Krasnodar fans would probably like to see some more goals scored at their own stadium in the league, the tally being 4 in 3 matches. Krasnodar have only conceded 2 from their league home games. For more goal stats, check the Statistics tab above.

PAOK form and stats

The traveling awayteam has defeated Benfica and Besiktas in order to reach Play-offs of Champions League. PAOK was sent out of Champions League in the 3rd qualifying round last season.

The away team travel with confidence. Not since the Panathinaikos game have they lost an away game, meaning PAOK has taken points from seven away matches in a row.

497 minutes! That's how long the PAOK goalkeeper Zivko Zivkovic and his defense have shut out their league opponents.

PAOK are travelling after their nice 2-1 home win in the Champions League against Benfica. Before that, PAOK secured a home win against Larissa with the score 1-0.

Andrija Živković came off the bench to score the winning goal in the match against Benfica last time out, making the manager A. Moreira Ferreira feel like a tactical genius.

PAOK are the outsiders in this one, but not by much. Their performance in similar games (being the away team and moderate outsiders) is zero wins, one draw and zero defeats. From a total of one match.

Head 2 Head

Head-2-head stats last two meetings: one - one - zero (Krasnodar wins - draws - PAOK wins). As for goals, one match ended with three or more goals (over 2,5), one had two or less.

Read more about Champions League

The UEFA Champions League is the major international club football tournament in Europe. The competition begins already in late June and lasts for almost a year, ending with the final played in late May or early June. After several qualifying rounds the group stage is where the “true” Champions League begins for many viewers. Eight groups with four teams each battle through six rounds to qualify for the knock-out phase. Then a round of 16, quarterfinals and then semifinals needs to be won before a place in the final is secured.
