Celtic and Ferencváros get a break from their league challenge to fight for a possible trophy in this Champions League 2nd Qualifying Round fixture.

These are busy days for the home team, as they were in action only four days ago in the Premiership. At least it's nice to return home after that away game at Dundee United.

It's quite the trip for Ferencváros when visiting Celtic as the cities are 2300 kilometers apart.

Celtic form and stats

This is not the first game this season in the Champions League for Celtic, as the manager N. Lennon led his troops to eliminate KR, and reach the 2nd Qualifying Round. Last season, Celtic's Champions League journey ended in the 3rd qualifying round.

Celtic haven’t lost a league-game in 13 attempts regardless of arena, a great achievement. Their last loss was the fixture versus Rangers, 241 days ago. After failing to beat Rangers here at Celtic Park, Celtic has put together a very nice winning streak on their own turf with five wins in a row.

Celtic are returning here after visiting Dundee United in a Premiership game and winning with a 1-0 scoreline. Albian Ajeti scored the goal(s). Previous to that game, a Champions League home match hosting KR in a game that was won 6-0.

Manager N. Lennon felt very clever after Albian Ajeti scored the winning goal against Dundee United, having brought on that player as a substitute in the 74th minute.

There's a new fixture coming up fairly quickly for Celtic, as the Premiership home game vs Motherwell is only four days away.

Ferencváros form and stats

The traveling awayteam has defeated Djurgården in order to reach 2nd Qualifying Round of Champions League. Last season their Champions League adventure ended in the 3rd qualifying round.

0-1-0 is the win-draw-loss statistic for Ferencváros in their NB 1 matches away.

Tokmac Chol Nguen (2) scored in Ferencváros's previous match, the home game against Djurgården that ended 2-0. A 1-1 draw at MTK's stadium before that.

There might be some complaints about the fixture list from the Ferencváros manager S. Rebrov as the team has another away game coming up in only four days, this time against Zalaegerszegi TE.

Ferencváros have the goal stats of 1-1 (for/against) from 1 business trip in the league at this early stage of the season.

The UEFA Champions League is the major international club football tournament in Europe. The competition begins already in late June and lasts for almost a year, ending with the final played in late May or early June. After several qualifying rounds the group stage is where the “true” Champions League begins for many viewers. Then a round of 16, quarterfinals and then semifinals needs to be won before a place in the final is secured.
