Match begins: 06:00 (UTC)
Venue: Netstrata Jubilee Stadium (20505 seats)

Sydney have performed better than Perth Glory so far this season, but every game starts at 0-0. Here's all you need to know about the upcoming game:

Both teams should be fairly well rested for this game, as they have had some quiet days to prepare. Hopefully this will translate into lots of action on the pitch.

These teams have little in common geographically as Perth Glory have to travel 3900 kilometers to reach their opponents. The trip home will be especially long if the match ends in defeat.

Sydney form and stats

This stadium, Netstrata Jubilee Stadium, has been a fortress for Sydney in the A-League so far this season with the win-draw-loss statistic 8-0-1.

Sydney are returning here after visiting Melbourne Victory in a A-League game and winning with a 4-1 scoreline. Adam Le Fondre, Miloš Ninković, Kosta Barbarouses and Anthony Caceres scored the goal(s).

The hosts are modest favourites in this match, with the bookmakers estimating the chance of a home win at about 50% +- five percent. It's interesting to look at how Sydney have performed under similar circumstances, so here are some numbers: When modest favourites like this (we found ten games) they have won nine times, drawn zero and lost one.

The match schedule is unforgiving for Sydney as they have a new game in only four days, a A-League match thankfully also at home. Wellington Phoenix are visiting.

The Sydney manager S. Corica has got the team scoring with 19 from 9 home games in the league. Sydney have only conceded 7 from their league home games. For more goal stats, check the Statistics tab above.

Perth Glory form and stats

As the visiting team in A-League matches, Perth Glory, who have the most clean sheets (6) in A-League, have produced an overall stat of 4-4-2 so far.

This game can not go any worse than the last one, a A-League home defeat versus Melbourne City with 2-3 on the scoreboard. It was a defeat before that one as the away game against Newcastle Jets wasn't a success with a 1-2 loss.

Perth Glory are the outsiders in this one, but not by much. Their performance in similar games (being the away team and moderate outsiders) is one win, one draw and two defeats. From a total of four matches.

Perth Glory have scored 13 goals on their travels this season, from 10 away games in the league. They concede less than a goal on average per away game (7 so far).

Head 2 Head

This is not the first time this season these parties meet, as the history books show this recent fixture: Perth Glory - Sydney 1-3. As for the last ten games between these two teams, there's eight Sydney victories, one draw and one Perth Glory win. Over/under statistics; seven of these games ended with three goals or more, three matches with two goals or less.

Read more about A-League

The A-League is the top level of the Australian football league system. Seasons run from October to May. Ten teams play a regular season of 27 fixtures to create a league table winner and the highest placed teams qualify for a playoff. The league winner is called the “premier” while the playoff winner is the “champion”. There is no set system for relegation, unlike most leagues in the world.
