Competition: Sun 15.March
Match begins: 12:00 (UTC)
Venue: Ibrox Stadium (50817 seats)

The Rangers & Celtic managers S. Gerrard and N. Lennon are both dreading and looking forward to this decisive game in the upper regions of the Premiership league table.

These teams both come from Glasgow, the biggest city in Scotland. The two teams are by far the most popular and successful in the country, and their rivalry is a classic in Scottish culture which also reflects political, social and religious differences. It’s called the Old Firm whenever these two meet, and the meetings are rarely without drama.

There haven't been much time to rest for the hosts, as they played a Europa League match only three days ago. This match was also played here at Ibrox Stadium. With two consecutive home games the intense schedule is somewhat softened. Still, Celtic have had more rest.

These teams are so close in distance that this match is special, a derby with local pride the main prize.

Rangers's previous game was also a home match, the defeat 1-3 versus Bayer Leverkusen. A strong away win before that one, visiting Ross County and winning 1-0.

Celtic form and stats

The strength of Celtic, who have the most scored goals (89) in Premiership, on their travels this season is incredible with 38 points collected from 15 Premiership away games. Celtic has 12-2-1 on the road, with 39 goals scored and 12 conceded. Things are running smoothly for Celtic who hasn't tasted defeat in their last ten matches, regardless of venue and tournament. Their last defeat was against Rangers. The away team travel with confidence. Not since the Livingston game have they lost an away game, meaning Celtic has taken points from ten away matches in a row.

The supporters enjoyed Celtic's previous game versus St. Mirren (placed 9th), a Premiership 5-0 win played at home. A 2-2 draw at Livingston's stadium before that.

As mentioned above, Celtic was the only team on the pitch versus St. Mirren in their previous game, winning 5-0. This could be a tougher task. It's hard not to mention Leigh Griffiths's lethal finishing against St. Mirren. three goals were a big reason for the important victory.
